Scop EVEA mapped and optimized its shared governance with a dynamic org chart

Since 2005, Scop EVEA has been helping organizations move toward more responsible products and services. Discover how they mapped and optimized their shared governance with a dynamic org chart.

Sector: Environmental consulting | Team size: 140 employees

EVEA is a consulting firm, training organization, and publisher and distributor of software tools (ASKOR) that helps companies improve their environmental and social performance.

Since 2005, this Scop (cooperative and participative company) has been supporting organizations in developing more responsible products and services.

The company, spread across 3 locations (Nantes, Lyon, Troyes), deploys multisector expertise bringing together consultants, engineers, IT specialists, and trainers in life cycle assessment (LCA), eco-design, socio-design, design, software development, and research and innovation.

The cornerstone of this cooperative’s culture is shared governance, the importance of each individual, solidarity, and sharing.

The Challenge

EVEA has been growing exponentially. In operation since 2005, the company had 60 team members in 2020, growing to 140 by 2023.

A PowerPoint was used to keep track of the organization, due to several factors:

  • Geographic spread: teams across 3 offices with some fully remote employees
  • Skills distribution: more than 8 different competency clusters with cross-functional missions
  • Sector expertise: over a dozen lines of expertise within each competency cluster

Representing all of EVEA’s entities at any given time was a real challenge and a barrier to the company’s participative approach.

Representing EVEA visually and simply was like exploring the meanders of an unknown river with a hand-drawn map.

The Solution

Jean-Baptiste Puyou, CEO and founder of EVEA, met Godefroy at a trade show in Nantes. Their shared vision of “simplifying team life” convinced EVEA to give it a try.

The company brought to life a dynamic org chart providing an accurate, real-time picture of all business, support, and governance entities.

Above all, it puts 140 faces front and center, fully representing each person’s skills and commitments.

For example, an LCA and eco-design consultant can also be a staff representative, part of the methodology working group, a trainer, fluent in Spanish, and a rock climber.

In my role managing internal and external communications, Rolebase has become an essential tool for presenting EVEA from every angle, whether to partners, clients, or during the recruitment process.
