# News Feed

Stay informed with a unified activity feed across your organization.

## Overview

The news feed is your **central dashboard** for keeping up with what is happening across the organization. It aggregates recent activity so you do not have to check each role individually.

## What Appears in the News Feed

The news feed shows recent activity including:

* **New and updated threads**, including discussions that have been created or received new messages.
* **Decisions** recorded in any role you have access to.
* **Completed meetings** that have ended, with a link to their summary.

Items are displayed in reverse chronological order, with the most recent activity at the top.

## Dashboard Overview

The dashboard is the first screen you see when you open Rolebase. In addition to the news feed, it provides quick-access panels for:

### My Tasks

A consolidated view of all tasks assigned to you across every role. Quickly see what needs your attention without navigating to individual roles.

### Upcoming Meetings

A list of your next scheduled meetings with date, time, and role. Click any meeting to view its details or join the session.

### Active Threads

Threads you are participating in that have recent activity. This helps you stay on top of ongoing discussions.

** Quick Navigation**

Each item in the dashboard links directly to its detail view. Click a task, meeting, or thread to jump straight to it.

## Notification Settings

Rolebase can send **digest emails** to keep you informed when you are away from the app. Configure your notification preferences to control:

* **Frequency** controls how often you receive digest emails (daily, weekly, or off).
* **Content** determines which types of activity are included in the digest.

Digest emails summarize recent threads, decisions, and meetings so you can stay informed without being overwhelmed.

** Email Notifications**

Notification preferences are per-user and can be changed from your account settings. They apply across all organizations you belong to.

## Visibility and Privacy

The news feed respects privacy settings:

* Activity from **private roles** is only shown to role members.
* **Private threads and decisions** only appear for authorized participants.
* **Private meetings** are only visible to meeting participants.

You will only see activity from roles and items you have access to.
